Quick Set-Up Guide
This article will guide you through a quick setup of the Custom Integration System (CIS for short) for WooCommerce with minimal customisation.
To set the plugin up to work using the CIS you are required to complete the following steps:
Search and install the Big Post Shipping plugin.
Enable "Use CIS Platform" in the plugin settings.
- Create a new Big Post CIS account or log in with an existing account.
If registering for the first time, your account will need to be approved. - Connect the CIS to your Big Post account by adding your API token to the settings.
- Add your warehouse location.
- Add SKUs to your products and save their respective dimensions, weight, and package types to the CIS.
- Copy your Big Post Platform Key to your plugin settings.
- Lastly, add Big Post Shipping as a shipping method in your Shipping Profiles to activate the rates on your website.
1. Install the Big Post Shipping Plugin
Navigation: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Big Post Shipping
Navigate to the Big Post Shipping plugin settings and tick "Use CIS Platform". Take note of the 'Big Post CIS Secret Key' field on this page, you will need to enter a value here in step 8.
3. Register to the CIS
If it is your first time using the CIS, you must register for a new CIS account.

Please note that the CIS account is separate from your Big Post account.
4. Generate and Add the Big Post API Token
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Settings > Big Post
You can generate your unique API token from the Big Post System by navigating to Admin > My API Tokens > Create API token.

For a more detailed guide on generating a Big Post API token,
Then paste the API token into the "Production - Big Post API Token" field.

Please be sure to save the API token somewhere safe as it will only be displayed once.
5. Warehouse Locations
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Settings > Warehouses
For the app to provide a quote, you must declare each product’s
shipping information, including the pickup location for each product. 'Warehouse Locations' are used throughout the CIS to signify the pickup address.
When adding a warehouse/pickup location within the
CIS, please add the correct 'Company Name' as this will be added to the Big Post job and sent to the carrier.

The Big Post API token must be added in step 4 prior to adding your warehouse in this step.
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Products
You must declare and regularly update your product information for the app to calculate the shipping costs. Within the products tab, you can add, view and import your products, declare package dimensions and change individual settings for each product.
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Products > Add Product
You
can manually add a product by simply clicking the ‘Add Product’ button. All of the fields will need to be entered in and the shipping types, warehouses and the correct ‘package type’ selected.
Enable
Widget: If
you do not wish to offer a shipping quote for this product you can untick this
box. For example, your freight might be extremely large and the cost of
shipping is 'Price on Application' only.
Name: Name of the product. This is
not required to match the product name within your store for quoting or
job bookings to work correctly.
SKU: Ensure that the SKU matches
what is against the product within your store. It can be letters or numbers
or both.
Shipping
Types: Turn
on or off the services you wish to offer your customers. “Use Admin Setting” is
your default setting from Settings > Shipping Types.
Authority
To Leave: Customise this setting for each product or use your default setting.
Available
in Warehouses: Select the warehouses where this product will be despatched from.
Packages: You have the option to have
multiple packages for a single product. You can add or remove packages by
clicking the relative button and entering the package details. For example,
your customer may purchase one portable basketball ring but it is delivered in
two cartons (one carton contains the ring and the second carton contains the
stand). Therefore, two package lines are required.
Dimensions & Package Type: Enter
the dimensions for each carton or pallet. Choose the correct Package Type for
this product otherwise the shipping quote will be incorrect.

Any items/packages over 40kg will need to be palletised with the ‘package type’
set to; pallet, skid, crate or stillage. Although 40kg is the limit for
cartons, only a select few services allow for these heavy items to travel as cartons, so it is recommended to palletise all items over 30kg.
7. Set Allowed Domains & Configure Widget
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Settings > Widget
Once all your product information has been added to the CIS and the General settings have been customised to your requirements, you will need to configure the Widget settings. Firstly, please add your website's domain to the "Allowed Domains" field, excluding the 'http://' or 'https://'.
You can also choose to show or hide the widget by turning it on or off, customise the text shown alongside the shipping rates shown or exclude GST from the prices shown on the widget.
8. Big Post Platform Key
Navigation: Big Post CIS > Settings > Widget
To complete the connection between the CIS and your website, please copy the API Secret Key from the CIS Settings, under the 'Widget' tab. This Secret Key will need to be added to the Big Post plugin settings (Big Post CIS Secret Key) on the WordPress/WooCommerce settings in the back end, or the page you saw in Step 2.
9. Add Big Post Shipping rates to your Shipping Zones
Navigation: WordPress Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones
To activate your rates, you will need to add the ‘Big Post
Shipping’ app to your shipping zones. This can be done by either managing your existing shipping zone(s) or by creating a new shipping zone where you can add Big Post as a shipping method for specific regions.

Please complete this step after all your product information has been added/updated to avoid incorrect shipping quotes being offered to your customer.
Congratulations, you're all done!
Feel free to
email us if you have any questions or require any assistance with the setup.
